Situated close to Río Real and Los Monteros, the peaceful residential area of Santa Clara is one of the most prestigious on the east side of Marbella. Here, a few hundred metres inland from the finest beaches and dunes in the region, residents enjoy a country club environment with villas ranged around the 18-hole golf course of the same name. First-class shopping facilities are available within a ten-15 minute range in Marbella’s downtown area, also known for its many cafés and restaurants. There is also the La Cañada shopping mall, Puerto Banús and its large El Corte Inglés department store, as well as the open-air mall at Elviria and the supermarket, bakery, cafés and other shops in nearby El Rosario. International schools are located some ten minutes away just past El Rosario (the English International College), and 15 minutes distant in Nueva Andalucía (Aloha College), Sierra Blanca (Swans International School) and La Mairena (the Deutsche Schule) and Las Chapas (Colegio Bilingüe).
El Rosario is also home to an excellent tennis club, while the beachside areas close to Santa Clara offer a good choice of restaurants and beach clubs in some of the most scenic coastal locations on the Costal del Sol. They include the elegant Trocadero Arena, trendy Palm Beach and lively Bono Beach, with in-between a series of famous beachside fish restaurants, such as El Mangaleta, Los Sardinales and Los Cano – all within a ten-minute radius.
