When people begin to contemplate buying a home in Marbella, either for holiday usage or as a permanent residence, what are the criteria that attract so many to the area of Las Brisas in Nueva Andalucía?

Known for its great amenities, accessibility and residential vibe, Aloha is a firm favourite with families looking to settle in the Marbella area, as well as more mature couples, seeking a quieter lifestyle near golf courses and other recreational activities. Its proximity to Puerto Banus and its great range of restaurants also entice many holidaymakers into the area.

There is one area of Marbella that has long been dear to the hearts of those who live on the Costa del Sol and will continue to be so for years to come, and that is much sought-after Nueva Andalucía.

The area between Marbella and Puerto Banús is often in the spotlight when buyers are looking for a beachfront villa, however east Marbella, which was frequently overlooked in the past is becoming more fashionable and sought-after. With the rise in popularity for luxury beach clubs – Nikki Beach, Buddha Beach, Bono Beach, amongst many others – as well as the having more space than perhaps the Golden Mile equivalent, buyers are realising that there are some wonderful villas available, and none more so than those that are set right on the beach.

Nueva Andalucía is the largest suburb of Marbella, and has long been one of the most popular residential areas in this region for many reasons: it is close to the lively marina of Puerto Banús and just a few more minutes to the diverse amenities of Marbella as well as the schools, shops and bars in the immediate vicinity. With such thriving hotspots nearby, it is perhaps surprising that this area is so peaceful and calm. Large villas and gated apartment complexes reside in the green valleys, which account for the other reason this area is so popular: the presence of some of the best golf courses on the Costa del Sol. Locally, the area is known as the Costa del Golf for this very reason, with Los Naranjos being one of the most popular districts.

Los Naranjos is known for the golf course designed by celebrated American course designer, Robert Trent Jones. Built in 1977, it has seen many changes in the residential area that surrounds it. Now famous as the ‘Golf Valley’ this part of Nueva Andalucía is one of the most popular of the Marbella region and rightly so. There is a wide range of local amenities all within a stones’ throw – supermarkets, bars, restaurants, boutiques – and this is without taking into account the fact that both Marbella and Puerto Banús are a short drive away.
